We are seeking a skilled content writer for a 3-4 month temporary assignment (with possible extension) to cover a maternity leave and assist with various creative writing projects as needed. The ideal candidate will be comfortable writing web content, blogs, and other materials for a diverse range of industries—including nonprofits, B2B, and consumer sectors.

Responsibilities:

Produce high-quality blog posts, website copy, and occasional social media content.

Adapt writing style to suit different brands, audiences, and industries.

Collaborate with internal teams via email or Slack as needed.

Translate AI-generated copy into user-friendly, SEO-optimized content (where applicable).

Balance multiple assignments and pivot as new writing needs arise.

Qualifications:

Strong portfolio demonstrating adaptable, effective writing across multiple formats and industries.

3+ years of experience.

Ability to work independently and manage deadlines efficiently.

Familiarity with using AI tools for content creation is a plus.

Flexibility to work remotely or from offices in St. Louis or Chicago.

Additional Information:

Hours may vary week-to-week (estimated average: 10 hours/week).

Quick ramp-up and knowledge transfer required to ensure continuity during the current team member’s leave.

Position may extend based on organizational needs and performance.
