Job Title: Public Relations (PR) Strategist

Role Overview: The PR Strategist will lead the development and execution of strategic PR initiatives, focusing on conference submissions, press releases, and media outreach. This role involves working closely with our marketing team to amplify client success stories, particularly in technology and related sectors. The ideal candidate is an experienced professional who can seamlessly transition between strategy and hands-on execution.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and research relevant industry conferences, events, and opportunities for client storytelling.
  • Develop and submit conference proposals, ensuring strategic alignment and compelling presentation of client achievements.
  • Craft clear, impactful press releases and media communications.
  • Engage in proactive media outreach, positioning client narratives effectively in various industry publications and platforms.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to gather necessary information, metrics, and client insights.
  • Maintain an organized schedule and track submission deadlines, status, and results.
  • Contribute strategic input to broader PR and communications planning, offering innovative approaches to maximize visibility and impact.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience in PR, with proven expertise in both strategic planning and tactical execution.
  • Experience with conference submission processes and successful track record in securing placements.
  • Strong writing and communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts into accessible narratives for diverse business audiences.
  • Familiarity with tech industry trends, PR best practices, and contemporary media landscapes.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Comfort and adaptability working independently or within team environments.

Preferred Skills:

  • Background in technology or life sciences sectors is beneficial but not required.
  • Previous agency or freelance experience is advantageous.

Engagement Structure:

  • This is a freelance/contract role based on hourly engagement. Availability of up to 10 hours per week, with flexibility to adjust based on project needs.
