What was your employment relationship with the applicant?
Co-worker later turned supervisor.
What was his/her title and specific job duties?
Creative Services Editor - all creative aspects of the televisions promotion department to include writing, producing, and editing of programs and TV promotions.
How was his/her performance compared with others doing the same or similar job?
Gary was always creative thinking beyond the ordinary. He always sought to improve not only the TV image, but his own knowledge of hardware and software available to produce the best product possible.
Any areas for improvement?
Gary was a perfectionist. He would never be satisfied with what he produced. He always thought there were improvements.
How did he/she get along with supervisors?
Gary was a professional. Even when disagreeing with management, he never would neglect his responsibilities.
How did he/she get along with peers?
Gary was liked by everyone. He was the first to help out in any way he could.
If I were going to be this person's supervisor, what advice would you have for me to maximize his or her performance on the job?
Keep him busy.
Please list what you feel to be his or her strong points (technically or personally)
Gary has a creative eye. His work does not mirror what others produce. He was always thinking of new and exciting ways to promote the station. He was the expert of the editing software for the company.
Please list any weak point(s) you feel he or she has (technically or personally)
Was he/she capable of movement beyond his capacity with you? Predict his/her highest level of achievement.
I'm not sure there is a plateau for Gary. Since I worked directly with him, Gary has learned on his own graphics including layout and design and photo editing software. As previous stated, Gary was always seeking ways to improve himself.
Tolerance for stress?
Last minute changes and fast paced production is the way TV is run. If Gary couldn't handle stress, he wouldn't have been in TV for as long as he was.
Work endurance levels?
Executive communication skills?
Level of trustworthiness / integrity?
I would trust Gary with anything.
What distracted him/her from his/her work?
