Job Description: Content Writer/Editor (Local to Cincinnati)
Overview: Our client, a compassionate leader in the end-of-life pet care industry, is looking for a Content Writer/Editor to help tell their story and provide valuable education around end-of-life care for pets. This role requires someone who is not only an excellent writer but also someone who can speak with heart and empathy about sensitive topics like pet hospice, grief counseling, and cremation. This is a local position, ideally suited for someone in the Cincinnati area who can connect with the mission and contribute to the company’s thought leadership efforts.

Responsibilities

• Write heartfelt and informative blog content on topics related to end-of-life pet care, including pet hospice, euthanasia, grief counseling, and cremation services.
• Collaborate with the team to create a content calendar and ensure a steady stream of thoughtful, engaging content that reflects the company’s values.
• Repurpose blog content into email newsletters, social media posts, and other marketing materials to ensure a consistent and compassionate message across all platforms.
• Work closely with the marketing team to ensure that the voice of the content aligns with the company’s mission of providing compassionate care for pets and their families.
• Edit and proofread all content to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the brand's tone and values.
• Attend and engage with the company’s events or initiatives, capturing insights that can be used for future content.

Requirements

• Proven experience in writing and editing content, with a portfolio that demonstrates an ability to write with empathy and clarity on sensitive topics.
• A deep compassion for pets and an understanding of the emotions tied to end-of-life care for animals.
• Strong writing skills with a focus on creating engaging, informative, and compassionate content.
• Ability to adapt content for different platforms (blog, social media, email) and maintain consistency in voice and tone.
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
• Local to Cincinnati, with the ability to attend events and engage with the team in person when needed.
