Job Title: Video Department Manager

Job Summary:
A leading live event production company is seeking a Video Department Manager to oversee live event video production for large-scale conferences and stage shows. This role requires both technical expertise in video engineering and leadership skills to manage a small team of video technicians. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who can ensure high-quality video signal control, seamless integration with other production elements, and effective project execution in fast-paced live event environments.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the video production department, overseeing a team of two full-time video technicians.
• Ensure proper video signal flow, engineering, and equipment integration for live events.
• Operate as a working technician while managing staff, supporting technical execution as needed.
• Plan and coordinate video production aspects of large-scale conferences, meetings, and stage shows.
• Work closely with other production departments to ensure smooth event execution.
• Oversee the setup and operation of LED walls, projection, live video switching, and broadcast equipment.
• Handle client interactions, addressing technical needs, troubleshooting issues, and providing creative video solutions.
• Maintain and update video equipment, ensuring all systems are functioning optimally.
• Train and mentor team members to improve skills and performance.

Requirements

• Technical Expertise: Strong experience with video signal flow, engineering, and troubleshooting in live event settings.
• Equipment Knowledge: Proficiency with LED walls, projection systems, live video switching, and video routing.
• Software Skills: Experience with AutoCAD, SketchUp, and other video production-related tools.
• Management Skills: Proven ability to lead and manage a team in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment.
• Problem-Solving: Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to resolve technical issues under tight deadlines.
• Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with clients, technical teams, and production staff.
• Travel Readiness: Willingness to travel 12-15 weeks per year, with trips lasting 5-7 days on average.
